Documentary about the footballer Toni Kroos and his career at Real Madrid. While he shines as the star of the team during matches, he is rather reserved off the pitch. It all began for Toni Kroos on the Mecklenburg Baltic coast in Greifswald, where he learned to play soccer from 1997 to 2002 at Greifswalder SC under his father, who worked there as a youth coach. After the family moved, he played for Hansa Rostock before FC Bayern Munich expressed an interest and signed him in 2007. But after winning the 2014 World Cup, Toni Kroos' life changed abruptly. The otherwise shy and reserved player was suddenly signed by the biggest soccer club in the world. With Real Madrid, he won the UEFA Champions League four times, something no German had ever achieved before. But in addition to the aforementioned highs, there are also defeats to cope with in sport. For his documentary, director Manfred Oldenburg accompanied the footballer during training and matches, but also in his private life, and traces Toni Kroos' career from Greifswald to Madrid.
