Futuristic Folk Dance Workshop with Imogen Reeve & Co.

Join Imogen Reeve & Co. for an open-level workshop exploring movement, improvisation, and themes from their new show *Mother Computer: Folk Dances From The Future*.

The session begins withMovement Labs—the company’s approach to structured improvisation and choreographic experimentation, developed over five years of practice. Through a rigorous warm-up and detailed movement textures, participants will explore rhythm, repetition, shifting weight, collective movement, and the relationship between structure and freedom. By engaging in practices such as copying, witnessing, drifting, and flocking, we’ll develop physical awareness, adaptability, and range of motion.

The workshop will then move into acreative exploration, drawing inspiration from*Mother Computer: Folk Dances From The Future*. We will learn some set material from the show and work with some of the props to generate your own material in response to the work. 

Expect a session that moves betweenrigor and play, structure and freedom, individual expression and collective experience. No prior experience with the company’s movement practice is required—just a willingness to experiment, move, and create.
