Spring is here! ...And on the Rheydter Markt, the experimental art venue GABA presents a collection of large-format photographs from Vesko Gösel's image archive.

He calls this series of works "Watermarks", which deals with a very special intermediate stage of photographs - a kind of 'state in transit'. At online auctions, Vesko Gösel seems to find some image motifs with digital copy protection much more interesting artistically than if they did not have it in the original. He is now transforming this condition to the architecture of the underground parking garage access buildings and uses the many glass windows similar to our monitor or cell phone displays as a filter between the motif and the viewer.

The vernissage is on Saturday, March 22, from 11 am on the Rheydter Markt.

GABA is an experimental place for art in the glass underground parking garage entrances on the Rheydt market square. The exhibitions change with the seasons and are visible around the clock. GABA presents unconventional art projects and promotes culture in open urban spaces.
