The exhibition unites two artistic positions that think painting beyond its classical boundaries. Jakob Juul and Lev Khesin work with very different materials and visual languages, but share a common interest in perception, process and physical presence.

Jakob Juul's paintings are created intuitively and in layers. His figurative, comic-inspired motifs move between memory and imagination, between surface and space. Bold colors and a playful formal language lend his works an immediate, almost restless liveliness in which the personal and the fictional merge.

Lev Khesin, on the other hand, replaces traditional paint with silicone and creates surfaces that oscillate between fluidity and resistance. Light, material and chance become equal players in the picture. His works can be experienced visually and haptically at the same time.

In their interplay, the works of both artists open up a space of tension between control and intuition, image and material, imagination and perception. The exhibition sees itself as a dialog between two contemporary positions, embedded in the curatorial environment of the Massoumi Gallery and the creative ecosystem of the Maschinenraum.
