Garth Erasmus and Guests + So Sner

Threnody for the KhoiSan is the title of the debut album by Garth Erasmus from Cape Town, South Africa, which will be released at the end of April 2024 on the renowned label TAL, run by Stefan Schneider. In recent years, Garth Erasmus has built up an artistic collaboration with musicians and visual artists from South Africa, Namibia and Hamburg.
So Sner consists of Susanna Gartmayer on bass clarinet and Stefan Schneider on electronics. They have been working together since 2020 and released their highly acclaimed album Reime (TAL25) in 2021. The sound of So Sner is both experimental and traditional and has its roots in the UK of the early 80s: an era in which soul and synthesizer, jazz and industrial, avant-garde and polyrhythm were fused with the help of intellectualism and punk attitude in such a way that diverse sketches of possible music were created, which are only being colored today.
