Selected Songs of DAVID BOWIE

January 10, 2023 marked the seventh anniversary of the death of one of the most influential artists in pop history. David Bowie, who always knew how to reinvent himself in changing alter egos and constantly explored new stylistic fields, not least through collaborations with a wide variety of protagonists (from Brian Eno to Queen...), remains a lasting fascination to this day.

The Leipzig band GROUND CONTROL, led by the charismatic Berlin singer and actor Christopher Nell (who also plays the lead role in the production of Bowie's musical "Lazarus" at Schauspiel Leipzig), presents a cross-section of Bowie's multi-layered oeuvre in this concert evening, which alone comprises 26 studio albums, and the selection of songs spans a wide range from early gems such as "Space Oddity", through hits such as "Let's Dance", "Ashes To Ashes" and "Heroes" to the dark and jazzy sounds of his last album "Blackstar".

Inspired by the energy of his live shows, a varied tribute to the exceptional artist often referred to as the "chameleon of pop" unfolds.
