From working-class kid to rock icon

Bruce Springsteen is one of the greats of international rock music. The Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame and over 130 million records sold make the Oscar winner and 20-time Grammy award winner one of the most successful musicians in the world.

In his program "Thunder Road", songwriter Daniel Schmidgunst explores the stories behind Springsteen's songs and his path from working-class child to rock icon. With his intimate and pared-down performance, he proves once again why he is one of Springsteen's most authentic interpreters. A microphone, guitar, keyboard and saxophone - that's all he and his two musicians, Andreas König (piano) and Marie Birkholz (saxophone), need.

"With my Bruce Springsteen evening, I want to present the musical world of this great rock star to the audience in a small concert setting. The program has something for everyone: Fans of the 'Boss' can revel with me, I'm happy to take interested newcomers with me and show them what fascinates me so much about this musician," says Daniel Schmidgunst.
