In her book, Susanne Siegert argues for a pluralistic, new form of remembrance work with a focus on the responsibility of the descendants of the generation of perpetrators. This should replace the "rehearsed" joint retrospective with the victims. Siegert places lesser-known Nazi crimes at the center of commemoration in order to highlight lesser-known places and previously neglected groups of victims.

Susanne Siegert is a journalist and one of the best-known voices of digital remembrance culture in Germany. As @keine.erinnerungskultur, she educates people about the Holocaust. She was awarded the Grimme Online Award in 2024 for her innovative and committed work and received the Margot Friedländer Prize in 2025.
