Let the renowned Bremen ceramic artist Martin Mindermann introduce you to the fascinating art of raku firing!

In a two-part weekend course, you will experience under his expert guidance how your ideas are transformed into unique works of art. The first weekend takes place in Oldenburg, followed by the second part in Martin Mindermann's workshop in Oyten.

Vessels are timeless cultural objects that have played an important role in all cultures for thousands of years. In this course, everything revolves around artistic design and the special raku firing, in which Martin Mindermann is one of the absolute masters. Raku is a fascinating firing technique that was developed in Japan in the 16th century and was originally used for the tea ceremony. It was not until the 1950s that this firing method became known in Europe. Today, Raku is particularly appreciated for its unique and unpredictable color effects.

This course offers you a unique opportunity to learn the techniques and secrets of raku firing under the guidance of an experienced artist and take your skills to a new level!
