We find the potential for further development in the differences, sometimes even in the contrasts, that surround us. A change of perspective can do us good and fill us with new inspiration. With this in mind, this symphony concert is dedicated to contrasts. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn as representatives of Viennese Classicism meet the new impulses that Florence B. Price brought to the world of music as one of the first African-American female composers. Maurice Ravel and Bohuslav Martinů enrich the program with impressionistic works that foreshadow modernism. This program reflects the diversity of the musical world with all its similarities and differences. So colorful, so lively, so refreshing.
