In the organizer's words:

Opera drama & seafaring romance

A juxtaposition of dramatic opera paintings and realistic-romantic tall ship portraits by Matthias Wunsch

Matthias Wunsch was born in Heidenheim in 1975 and developed his painting style completely self-taught, which is inspired by the Old Masters from the Renaissance and Baroque periods as well as Romanticism and Realism. Matthias Wunsch has presented his paintings to the public at numerous exhibitions and art fairs, e.g. in Berlin, Vienna, Hamburg, Rostock and Stuttgart. He is also a member of the Stuttgarter Künstlerbund and has also taken part in numerous exhibitions there, in particular the double exhibition "Opera and Nature" and the group exhibition "Vibrant Expressions" at the Stadtpalais Museum für Stuttgart.

In this exhibition, Matthias Wunsch presents his "opera paintings" based on Bizet's "Carmen", Puccini's "Tosca" or Catalani's
"La Wally" and his realistic-romantic portraits of famous windjammers such as "Gorch Fock", "Susanna" or "Kruzenshtern".
