Heat, heavy rain and water shortages: how can the city still remain liveable?
The climate crisis will be felt strongly in the city in the coming years. The heat in summer is already unbearable in some places, while prolonged periods of drought put a strain on the urban ecology and cause street trees to wither. Groundwater is also becoming warmer and scarcer, putting drinking water at risk.
What exactly are we facing and who will be hit hardest by the changes? How quickly will they occur? What can and must be done to ensure that the city remains liveable for all its inhabitants, i.e. people, animals and plants? What options do people have to adapt their homes or neighborhoods? What support is needed for this?

A lecture will introduce the topic, followed by a discussion to which both experts and the public are cordially invited.
