Gendersensible Sprache

In the organizer's words:

Basics workshop

"Ladies and gentlemen and uh..." - Our language quickly reaches its limits when we want to address people beyond the binary gender system. Non-binary people are often ignored in the form of address. But there is another way!

The participatory online seminar provides an introduction to gender-sensitive language and teaches ways of dealing with diversity in language. Participants are encouraged to try things out, work with illustrative examples and have the opportunity to ask their own questions. Attention is paid to an appreciative exchange with each other. Uncertainty and ambiguity are not ignored; instead, participants are supported in developing a confident way of dealing with them.

The seminar is aimed at people who have little or no prior knowledge of gender-sensitive language. Together we will develop gender-appropriate formulations for leisure and work and learn about different ways of speaking and writing in a gender-appropriate or de-gendered way. The aim is to develop a confident attitude that allows for mistakes and enables further development.
