Hanover Health Fair: Discover and Try Out Health-Related Activities, and Take Home New Inspiration
On October 11, 2026, the Döhren Community Center will become a gathering place for anyone who wants to do something for their health and well-being. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Hanover Health Fair—now in its sixth year—invites you to learn more, try new things, and talk in person with experts from Hanover and the surrounding region. Free admission.
What can I do myself to improve my health?
Health is more than just your next doctor’s appointment. Nutrition, exercise, stress, sleep, metabolism, gut health, circulation, and proper preventive care all play an important role in everyday life. But what options are actually available—and which ones suit your individual needs? This is exactly where the Hannover Health Fair comes in. Numerous experts, companies, and organizations will showcase practical options related to health, prevention, and quality of life. Visitors can ask questions, explore various offerings, and receive on-site advice.
Topics range from nutrition and weight management to gut health and microcirculation, as well as exercise, fitness, physical therapy, resilience, and relaxation. Important issues related to long-term care, power of attorney for healthcare, living wills, and long-term care insurance benefits are also explained in an easy-to-understand way.
Health Starts in Everyday Life
One focus of the fair is on nutrition, metabolism, and gut health. At 2:30 p.m., Annette Pulvermüller will present the topic “Weight Management with the 4E Metabolism Program” and highlight ways to specifically support metabolic processes.
Anyone looking for inspiration for mindful eating will find creative recipe ideas, practical tips, and helpful kitchen gadgets at Sabrina Möhring’s booth. At 12:30 p.m., Simone and Veith Schroeder will discuss the importance of a healthy gut and ways to support it in their presentation “Healthy Gut—Healthy Person.”
Exercise, Blood Vessels, and Mobility
Those looking to be more active or maintain their physical fitness will also find plenty of inspiration at the fair. Physical therapy, osteopathy, health classes, and coaching are all part of the offerings, as are solutions for greater mobility in everyday life.
The topic of microcirculation will also be fascinating: At 3:30 p.m., Thomas Ruminski will explain the role that the smallest blood vessels play in our bodies. In addition, visitors can learn about physical vascular therapy at a booth run by a provider from Liechtenstein and try out a full-body treatment.
Reducing Stress and Building Inner Resilience
Staying healthy isn’t just about keeping your body fit. Relaxation, recovery, and the ability to cope with stress are also important components of a healthy life.
At 3:00 p.m., Dr. Ariadne Altenschmidt will speak on the topic of resilience. She will address how to strengthen one’s own resilience and how to remain more composed even in difficult situations.
In addition, various exhibitors will present holistic health counseling, relaxation programs, and different approaches to achieving greater balance and well-being.
Prevention: Better to Get Informed Early
Many important questions regarding health and care often don’t arise until a difficult situation has already occurred. The health fair therefore also offers the opportunity to address the topic of preventive care early on. At 1:00 p.m., Frank Rethmeier will discuss “Advance Directives and Power of Attorney for Health Care” and explain what matters most when making important personal decisions. At 1:45 p.m., the focus will shift to care levels and long-term care insurance benefits—with clear information on eligibility requirements, entitlements, and support options.
And there’s much more to discover
In addition to the main topics, visitors can expect a diverse range of offerings related to health and daily life. These include, among other things, health insurance, vision and hearing aids, mobility aids, wellness travel, drinking water treatment, household and cleaning appliances, shading systems, daily living aids, pet food, and funeral planning.
Thus, the Hannover Health Fair offers more than just information for older adults. It is aimed at the whole family and all generations who are concerned about their health and want to learn about new possibilities.
A Surprise for the First 20 Visitors
It pays to arrive early: The first 20 visitors will receive a surprise bag containing gift certificates, product samples, and practical everyday aids.
