A theater fan spectacle for the UEFA EURO 2024 - D'haus Open Air 2024 - Premiere on 24 May 2024 - In front of the Schauspielhaus - Schauspiel

The UEFA EURO will take place in Germany in 2024. Düsseldorf will host five matches and the square in front of the Schauspielhaus will become the official fan zone - with public viewing, lots of activities to take part in and an open-air theater performance, as has become a tradition at the D'haus for several years now. The production "Glaube, Liebe, Fußball" combines legendary moments in soccer history with fan chants, choreography and typical scenes in the stands of a stadium to create a theatrical spectacle that is not just aimed at soccer fans. Directors Peter Jordan and Leonhard Koppelmann deliberately focus on the fans' perspective, as they embody the soul of the sport.

Actors from the D'haus ensemble and students from the Schauspielstudio Düsseldorf are on the pitch together with soccer and theater enthusiasts of all generations. The plot is an imaginary soccer match from the teams' run-in to the award ceremony - mirrored by the passionate reactions of the fans, accompanied by two crazy live commentators and a maximum of competent experts on the sidelines. The stage set represents the grandstand of an arena, complete with announcer's booth and video wall for iconic moments in EURO history. This brings together the best of the worlds of theater and soccer: Emotions, surprising twists and turns and strong characters. The result: an entertaining theater experience with a stadium atmosphere for everyone.

The production is directed by Peter Jordan and Leonhard Koppelmann. The specialists for fast-paced comedies with depth have already staged "Around the World in 80 Days" and the Shakespeare comedy "The Queen's Men" at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus.
