"Pas le choix" is the new single by Glauque from their upcoming debut album "Les Gens Passent, Le Temps Reste", which will be released in 2023. This title underlines the unique identity of the band from Namur, Belgium, and confirms that they tend to play with musical genres rather than submit to them.

On the border between hip-hop, rock and electro, Glauque consider their music not only in terms of sounds, but also in terms of colors and atmospheres, which justifies the double meaning of the name, which describes both a watery green that corresponds to the waters of the sea and an atmosphere full of sadness. With its elegant intro consisting of some melancholic piano notes, soon followed by a wave of synthesizers and percussion, "Pas le choix" fully embraces this ambiguity. The single succeeds in deepening the introspective dimension of a text that draws its substance from a passionate search for meaning and connection, put to the test in a world where loss, whatever it may be, remains an inexorable reality.

Accompanied by an instrumental trio consisting of Lucas, Aadriejan and Baptiste, Louis' voice and words succeed in tracing this uncertain struggle of a passionate soul in the meanders of disillusionment. This strong proposal is answered by a video of Baptiste, which in its clearest symbolism - a youth indulging in the carefree pleasures of skateboarding on a coffin - makes "Pas le choix" a revolt against madness and death and Glauque a unique group.

Glauque is not necessarily the first band to take it upon themselves to soften the boundaries between electronic music and hip-hop - and to do so in French. Some contemporary companions in France and Belgium, such as MC Solaar, have chosen exactly these two musical genres to make crossover music on this interface - some were then allowed to look back on considerable chart success.

Glauque, however, calculates nothing, not even compatible success - the band prefers to do its own thing. It's clear to see and feel that their approach to aesthetics, poetic lyrics and arrangements is unconventional and brave - the vibe is dark, gloomy and yet tender and gentle. Intimate, rebellious, atmospheric and always very surprising.
