Eifelsteig, Lieserpfad
from Gemünden to Manderscheid
Distance: 19.5 km, approx. 550 m elevation gain

Arrival / departure: Start, Gemünden near Daun (bus transfer from Cologne 08.00 am), return from Manderscheid by bus transfer to Cologne
We start with the longest ascent of the day, past the Gemündener Maar, up to the Mäuseberg with a very beautiful view over the Volcanic Eifel. The route now takes us over beautiful open spaces past the Totenmaar and Schlkenmehrener Maar down to Schalkenmehren. Another climb takes us to the Hohe List with its observatory. We slowly descend through the forest into the Liesertal valley to Üdersdorfer Mühle. From here, we follow the River Lieser up and down along very lonely paths until we finally see the Manderscheid castles and reach Manderscheid.
We recommend high, sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for the weather conditions.
The tours are not suitable for children under the age of 12 and are carried out at a brisk pace. Every participant should feel fit and in good health to tackle these routes. Participation is at the participant's own risk and with their consent.
