Based between Amsterdam and Berlin, the Goblyns masterfully combine funk, soul, krautrock and psychedelic hooks. Their sound is characterized by rousing, syncopated drum-and-bass grooves and powerful, fuzzy riffs. The (predominantly) instrumental trio - consisting of brothers Liam and Francis Broek and their longtime friend Giovanni Votano, all born and raised in Gqeberha, South Africa - burst onto the scene in 2023 with the EP This Is Spaghettification. They signed to Crazysane Records and released their debut album Hunki Bobo in May 2024 to widespread critical acclaim. Since then, they have toured Europe and released another impressive album, Three Sisters, in June 2025, which introduced Francis' smooth vocals for the first time. Inspired by bands such as The Meters, W.I.T.C.H., CAN and Kikagaku Moyo, these music fanatics create a purity of sound that cannot be pinned down. A third album is due to be recorded in early 2026.
