Every year, Christmas is a time for reflection, inner contemplation and a focus on the really important things: community and security. A time when the hectic pace and sensory overload of modern societies are faded out and humanity and warmth take center stage instead. GREGORY PORTER captured this mood brilliantly on his 2023 album "Christmas Wish" - and is now bringing it to the stage.
It is precisely these values, these moments of light in the darkness, that GREGORY PORTER is focusing on on this special tour, on which he is accompanied not only by his band, but also by a string quartet consisting of two violins, a viola and a cello as well as a harp and a three-part choir. Under the direction of conductor Magnus Lindgren, this chamber music setting creates a finely balanced sound that warmly emphasizes GREGORY PORTER'svoice. The program for these evenings combines GREGORY PORTER'sgreat jazz and soul songs with Christmas classics in arrangements that give the music even more warmth, personality and depth, making it perfect for this special time of year.
