Winter magic between the market square and fish market

Christmas sparkle in the old town: from November 27, 2025, the historic market square and fish market will once again be transformed into an atmospheric Advent quarter. Small, charming and full of atmosphere - Greifswald's Christmas market invites you to feast, browse and marvel for three weeks. Whether it's mulled wine, sweet treats, gift ideas or cozy moments by the fire: this is where real festive joy comes from.

A glowing winter backdrop of lovingly decorated wooden huts, twinkling lights and the medieval brick ambience of the old town is created around the 16-metre-high Christmas tree. The fairytale forest, the Christmas pyramid, the historic carousel and the Ferris wheel will not only make the little ones smile - they provide the special flair that makes this market so special.

And for those who like things a little quieter: the fish market becomes a cozy Christmas village. Here you can relax and enjoy the Advent season by the fire bowl, with hearty snacks, mulled wine or glögg, far away from the hustle and bustle and yet right in the middle of the city's winter activities.
