Großes Concert - Gewandhausorchester, Alan Gilbert
In the organizer's words:
The famous German jazz pianist Michael Wollny honors the Gewandhaus zu Leipzig with his brilliance. First experience the world premiere of a work commissioned by the "Gerda Donges and Friedrich Steffen Pohle Foundation for Music in Leipzig", composed by Bernd Franke. For his work "Genesis", he drew inspiration from Japanese, Chinese and Indian cultures, among others. The evening will be rounded off with what is probably Bruckner's most important orchestral work, his Third Symphony in D minor in the 1888/89 version.
