Historically separated, yet connected in the line of thought of a single musical experience: it is Grażyna Bacewicz who opens the great historical parenthesis of this program - the Polish composer drew on the rich forms of the Baroque in 1948 when she conceived her concerto for string orchestra. Sergei Prokofiev's "Symphonie classique", on the other hand, creates a shorter arc that elegantly establishes a link to the time of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whose Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in C major will be performed by the exceptional Japanese pianist Mao Fujita. The finale of the evening will be Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 1 in C major.
