GRUNDEIS + DIE ANSTALT

In the organizer's words:

Slow Club Freiburg presents: GRUNDEIS + THE INSTITUTION

GRUNDEIS
Almost three years have passed since the Hamburg band GRUNDEIS (founded in 2018) released their debut album "Amygdala" (VÖ11/2021), a dark post-punk firework with gothic and shoegaze nuances. The first album was extremely well received and reviewed by the national and international press and audience, and the LP edition was sold out in no time at all.

The band took their time for the second album "Every Second an Ocean" (release date 12.12.2024 on UNDRESSED Records). Time that was especially necessary for an opening and a change.
The name of the long-player reflects the intensity and power of the second record: 14 songs, over an hour long, a monument of an album.

GRUNDEIS clearly expand their creative circle on the new album and, despite the long playing time, do not allow any musical/content-related indifference to arise.
You don't want to miss any of the songs, no number is just filler.

The band maneuvers boldly and skillfully between dreamy shoegaze ballads, powerful, hard noise rock and snotty post-punk. GRUNDEIS show a new musical and personal self-confidence.

The deep traumas of Amygdala seem to have been overcome, although emotional depth and honesty have also flowed into the record grooves on "Every Second an Ocean".

In 2024, GRUNDEIS prove once again why they have been considered one of the hottest German newcomer bands since their debut and manifest their claim as an international rock act to be taken seriously.

DIE ANSTALT
is a Berlin-based post-punk and minimal synth trio that formed in 2023 and quickly gained recognition for their intense fusion of early EBM, synth-punk and classic post-punk elements. Their sound is carried by pounding electronic rhythms, jagged guitars and striking, haunting vocals that channel the harshness and tension of 1980s industrial subcultures with a sharp, contemporary edge.

The band is known for their theatrical, energetic live performances, offering a hypnotic and confrontational experience that blurs the line between punk ferocity and electronic precision.

With a strong visual identity and an uncompromising approach to sound, Die Anstalt has quickly become a standout act in Berlin's underground scene.

Having already left their mark on the underground music scene with their EP "Rat Race" from 2024, DIE ANSTALT have now released their debut album "September" and are presenting their new songs on live stages in several European cities.
