Aging Well Under the Rainbow

A new ZWAR group is being formed in Gelsenkirchen for lesbian, gay, trans*, and other queer people aged 55 and older. ZWAR stands for “Between Work and Retirement” and is aimed at people who want to shape this new phase of their lives consciously, actively, and together.

The group offers a space for meeting others, sharing ideas, and engaging in shared activities. The focus is on making new connections, providing mutual support, and offering the opportunity to contribute personal interests and ideas. Whether it’s creative projects, group outings, cultural activities, discussions, or new leisure ideas—the group develops its program together and is guided by the participants’ wishes.

Generationennetz Gelsenkirchen e. V. invites you to the kickoff event on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 5 p.m. at the cultural space “die flora.” The event offers an opportunity to learn about the program, make initial connections, and work together to develop ideas for the group’s future direction.

Participation is non-binding. Anyone else who is interested is welcome to join you.
