HALTLOS tells the story of pregnant Martha, intensely embodied by Lilith Stangenberg, who decides to give her child up for adoption. Both disturbing and touching, director Kida Khodr Ramadan tells the story of her decision and its consequences, which lead to a psychological and social struggle for femininity, motherhood and freedom.

Martha (Lilith Stangenberg) has a love affair with the married Sebastian (Samuel Schneider) and is expecting his child, but he doesn't want to leave his wife and small family under any circumstances. She feels like a dysfunctional outsider compared to her strong, successful mother (Jeanette Hain) and her sister (Zsá Zsá Inci Bürkle), who lives in seemingly secure circumstances. She is also ignored in her job as an employee in the music industry and her ideas are exploited. In this situation, Martha decides to give her child up for adoption after it is born - a decision that drags her into a maelstrom of conflicting emotions.
