A firework display of pantomime parodies and clowning by and with Bernd Lafrenz

Bernd Lafrenz has been playing Hamlet alone for years - in his own, incredibly lively and creative way, so that the audience is finally encouraged to join in and lose their shyness - and even their blinkers. The classic original is parodistically distorted into a grotesquely comic thriller. The content of Shakespeare's HAMLET remains the same, and a remnant of Shakespearean language is always retained, sometimes as a deliberate counterpoint to the clowning.

First and foremost, Bernd Lafrenz wants the audience to have fun. But that is not the only concern: The characters, who belong to the permanent inventory of world literature, are to be lifted from their pedestals with anarchic delight. It is a way of taking away shyness and reverential fear of the great Shakespeare and yet rescuing incontrovertible truths into the present.
