For Thomas Meyer, these sentences form the guiding principle of his biography of Hannah Arendt. Following them, Meyer sheds light on the fascination and criticism that Hannah Arendt as a person and her writings triggered throughout her life, making the phenomenon of 'Hannah Arendt' more comprehensible for both the interested and the connoisseur. For the first time, previously unknown archive material and other previously ignored documents are used to portray Arendt in her time. This opens up new perspectives on Arendt's revolutionary thinking.
Thomas Meyer received his doctorate and habilitation at the LMU Munich. After numerous positions in Germany and abroad, Meyer teaches philosophy in Munich. His research and publications focus on the 20th century.
