Meta Hüper is a musical exception. When she takes to the stage in tails, suspenders and hat, she immediately casts a spell over the audience. The thoroughbred musician inspires in her programs with a mixture of chanson, swing, tango and classical music. From Knef to Piazzolla, from Brel to Ravel - chanson without borders presented with a charming performance and lots of energy, a deep voice and masterful interludes on the violin. Only Meta can pull this off!

The Berlin-based singer and violinist is no longer an insider tip. International tours have taken her to the world's major stages with Till Brönner, Max Raabe and as a member of the Salut Salon ensemble. In Berlin, she is currently performing alongside Sharon Brauner and the Capital Dance Orchestra in the acclaimed revue "Berlin, Du coole Sau!" at the TIPI am Kanzleramt.

In her program "Wenn es Nacht wird...", Meta brings the full range of her musical talents to the stage in one evening. She takes the audience on a musical journey through the emotional worlds of the night. With charm, temperament and passion, she sings, plays and taps her way through her favorite music. Meta takes her audience to wicked bars, lonely streets and erotic milongas. She tells stories of joy, sorrow, hope and love.

Listeners can expect classics such as Zarah Leander's "Nur nicht aus Liebe weinen", Marlene Dietrich's "Ich weiß nicht zu wem ich gehöre", Edith Piaf's "Je ne regrette rien" or Brel's "Ne me quitte pas". Italian hits from the 1950s are reminiscent of warm nights in the south and awaken a longing for more. With her own arrangements and unusual instrumentation, Meta adds her own personal touch to the evening. Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" on the singing saw merges with AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" as a violin solo, Rusalka's "Aria to the Moon" is transformed into a passionate Tango Argentino and Ravel's "Bolero" becomes a spectacular orchestral work with the help of a looping device. A real treat for the eyes and ears!

Meta is accompanied by Jens Schlichting on the piano. The celebrated silent film pianist is equally at home in classical music and jazz and knows how to lend the evening a special sparkle with sensitivity and musical finesse. "When night falls..." is as multi-layered as the night itself and promises one thing above all: it's worth staying awake!
