On Saturday, June 21, 2025, German hip-hop pioneer Azad will take to the stage of the dasHaus cultural center in Ludwigshafen.

The event "Harfenklänge presents: Azad" invites you to a special evening with one of the most influential voices in German gangsta and battle rap.

Azad, real name Azad Azadpour, is one of the pioneers of the German rap scene. Born in 1973 in Sanandaj, Iran, he came to Germany as the child of Kurdish refugees and found his musical home in Frankfurt am Main. Azad discovered his passion for hip-hop back in the 1980s - initially as a break dancer, later as a rapper, beatboxer and producer. He celebrated his first successes with his band Cold-N-Locco, later Asiatic Warriors, and made a lasting impression on the scene with his tough, authentic style.

After his breakthrough as a solo artist with his album "Leben" (2001), Azad became a cult figure and released numerous successful albums such as "Faust des Nordwestens", "Der Bozz" and the chart highlight "One" with Kool Savas. In addition to his music, he founded the label "Bozz Music" and expanded his portfolio with his own products such as "Bozz Liquids".
