The trio Headsend, hailing from the Australian surfer’s paradise of Byron Bay, has been riding a pretty impressive wave of hype over the past few months. Fortunately, the acting, surfing, and music-making brothers Rasmus and Kyuss King, along with bandmate Bon Soric, are handling it quite well.

Their debut EP “Angel Glands,” released at the end of March, certainly doesn’t sound like it’s thrown them off their game.

Even their early gigs opening for Tool and AC/DC in front of tens of thousands of people generated excitement. In fact, their powerful grunge-stoner rock is so self-assured that a word like “newcomer” almost sounds out of place.

This fall, Headsend are finally embarking on their own tour to play songs like the Nirvana-esque “Stove” or the QOTSA-reminiscent “Do Do” in packed clubs—exactly where this music sounds best.

In Germany, they’ll be performing at the Badehaus in Berlin on September 13.
