Hedda Guradze – Ein Leben

In the organizer's words:

Together with the project Denk mal am Ort of the association Kubin e.V. and the action alliance Omas Gegen Rechts, the Hamburg Central Library commemorates its former employee Hedda Guradze, who was dismissed in 1937 due to her Jewish origin and emigrated to the USA, where she took her own life in 1945.
The culture of remembrance aims to remember, admonish and warn. We must focus on the political factors that can endanger and prevent a life in freedom and dignity. We must learn lessons from the past for the present and the future.

For some time now, we have had to note with concern how basic democratic principles are being violated, fought against or extinguished in many countries. How do we want to live? How would Hedda Guradze have wanted to live?
