Heidelauf

Started in November 1979, the running series has since developed into a permanent fun run in Halle. From an early stage, the Heath Runs have been a place for community encounters, joint sporting activities and competitions, as well as an occasion for surprises and curiosities.

Different start and finish points, changing routes, changing organizers and the Heide Oscar awards and much more provided entertaining topics of conversation.

Throughout the years, the joy of exercising in the great outdoors and meeting each other in a sporting atmosphere has been at the forefront of everyone's minds. And there were plenty of surprises. For example, a horde of crossing wild boars gave some participants an adrenaline rush and increased their speed, some participants discovered branching nature trails in the beautiful Dölau forest, others set participation records with countless entries.

Exciting duels between amateur runners and ambitious athletes, the setting of personal records, refreshing drinks and conversations brightened up the Sunday outing for runners of all ages. Over the past four decades, the Heidelaufserie has been a lively reflection of social events in Halle and has contributed to the upswing of the running movement in Halle.

The Heidelauf series offers runners a choice of 5 km, 10 km and 15 km distances. All athletes are invited, whether beginners, advanced runners or ambitious athletes. The start and finish areas are located at the entrance to the Heidebad. The route leads past the Heidesee lake, the Heideranch, up to the plateau of the Dölauer Heide and past Gauselmann's tree plantations back to the Heidebad.

As a fun run, the Heidelauf aims to be an event for all types of runners in Halle. On the one hand, ambitious runners should be given the opportunity to compete over their favorite distance and vie for seconds, victories and placings. On the other hand, we also want to welcome sportsmen and women who want to enjoy the company of others and the joy of exercise on the forest trails. Accordingly, award ceremonies will continue to be held in the age groups and for the overall winners and these will be supplemented by a participant ceremony.
