Heilstätten Comedy Slam

Comedy Special: Stand-up meets the funniest slam poets we could find. Somewhere between cabaret, slapstick, and clever wordplay: The Comedy Slam is coming to Heilstätten!

Next to the dilapidated, once-magnificent domed bathing hall—surrounded by rustling pine trees and vacant sanatorium buildings—you’ll discover a magnificent 19th-century structure designed by architects Boethke and Schmieden. Tuberculosis was rampant in Berlin, and the sick fled to the sanatoriums just outside the city gates. Today, many parts of the former flagship sanatorium are abandoned “lost places,” their doors boarded up and their courtyards barred. And while more and more construction projects are reclaiming the site for residential and living spaces, a few corridors and halls from that era remain.

Within walking distance of the Heilstätten train station—a 35-minute ride from Berlin’s Bahnhof Zoo—an enchanting place awaits you, one whose gates usually remain closed to prying eyes. 

The Kiezpoeten Poetry Slam in Beelitz-Heilstätten isn’t just another new slam in Brandenburg. It’s live culture in the beautifully renovated Green Hall—a stage for locals and newcomers alike, as well as seasoned professionals who’ve traveled far and wide. It’s comedy and profound poetry set against the most beautiful backdrop you can imagine. Spoken word meets a “lost place”; culture meets nature. 

Following the spectacular and sold-out summer shows, we’re now bringing you regular slam culture to this enchanted place with the Heilstätten Slam—this time indoors!
