Things have gone wrong in the world once again: when Robert Habeck has to justify the old oil heating system in the Bundestag basement, Olaf Scholz "accidentally" sells Saxony to the Chinese or the smart brain-dead Donald Trump is unexpectedly elected Pope. But there is hope: for all those who are not yet in the mood for resignation, want to have a good laugh again or think that their partner finally needs to be shown the door, there is the brand new program by humour professionals Henning Ruwe and Martin Valenske - also known as the Chippendales of German cabaret. The two cabaret artists from Berlin's Distel are always controversial and on the verge of being banned from their profession, offering sharp political satire in the face of general arbitrariness and increasing freedom to have fun. Because satire must finally become more absurd than reality again.
With this promise, they tackle the last small remaining and niche topics such as
inflation, social inequality and the beginning of spring in December. They look at who has been stuck to chairs or roads for too long, dig up a few more villages to ensure that future generations will also have a secure supply of the best charcoal for German quality pigs and ask whether the traffic lights are really doing their job as well as they claim. But honestly: if these are all our problems, then Germany really is doing very well.
