With his debut album "Cuttin' In", on his own label Realwood Records, Henri Jerratsch has positioned himself as one of the exciting new voices in contemporary soul, funk, blues and jazz drumming. In his sound, the 29-year-old musician, composer and producer combines the depth of African-American musical traditions with a tried-and-tested, organic production approach.

Growing up on the Schlei and musically influenced by his father's blues records, Henri's early stations led him via Kiel and Hamburg to Osnabrück and New Orleans. A scholarship enabled him to study for a year in the US metropolis of New Orleans - a formative experience that broadened his musical perspective in the long term. Back home, he now lives in Berlin.

Today, Jerratsch is a permanent member of Kai Strauss & The Electric Blues Allstars - one of the most renowned European blues formations - and has gained experience as a drummer with with Tommie Harris, Roland Guerin, Jason Ricci, Amina Scott, Jesse McBride, Chri Adkins, Richard Knox, Wes "Warmdaddy" Anderson, Herlin Riley, Anne Mette Iversen, Frederik Köster, Jimmie Reiter, Tommie Schneller, Todor "Tosho" Todorovic, Michael van Merwijk and Steve Baker.

"Cuttin' In" is the first album by his newly formed Organic Trio, which he formed together with Victor Vollmer and Elias Vollmer in New Orleans. The music moves between funk, soul and jazz and was produced with great attention to detail. It is the prelude to a planned "Organic" series, with which Jerratsch is consistently pursuing his own sound concepts, compositions and production ideas.

At the same time, he is working on other projects, including with the Frankfurt label band The Upper Sides (SOULPORT Records), the cinematic funk project The R.S.U.s with label boss Marcel Bach and as a live drummer for formations such as The Winston Brothers (Colemine Records) and the Hamburg soul collective The Angels of Libra.

Henri Jerratsch sees himself not only as a drummer, but also as an artistic personality with a clear vision: emotionally deeply connected to Black American music, with his own sound, his own label and an unmistakable sense of musical authenticity.
