Hepta Polka - Balkan, Nordic & Handmade Folksounds

In the organizer's words:

Since 2017, the folk band Hepta Polka has been delighting audiences in northern Germany and around the world in their very own way. With trumpet fiddle, Hardanger fiddle and nyckelharpa, they create a furious whirl that, it is said, has never stopped a dancing leg. Rousing Balkan numbers and Scandinavian trads meet sophisticated arrangement ideas and the odd mischievous smile.

One way or another, three sold-out concerts at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival with a total of over 2000 people have catapulted the band to the highest heights. The eight fundamentally different characters from northern Germany also regularly rock clubs such as the MS Stubnitz and other festivals.

The band once found important inspiration in Fanfare Ciocarlia or the Amsterdam Klezmer Band, but has now carved out its very own place in the folk scene.

They are said to have an"exuberant temperament" (unser.lübeck). And indeed, Hepta Polka and their audience are regularly transported to seventh heaven with rousing trombone, clarinet and vocal interludes - whatever that means, you have to experience it(!).

In any case, Hepta Polka are already presenting their second album at the Fabrik, a gripping mix of klezmer, Balkan and Scandinavian tunes that is sure to leave no eye dry. Whether conscious enjoyment or uninhibited dancing, Hepta Polka makes it possible and necessary and is there for everyone!
Hepta Polka - once everything, please - thank you.
