With a mixture of the emotional and atmospheric elements of black metal, progressive, rhythmic melodic death metal structures and the beauty of post-rock, HERETOIR creates a nostalgic, melancholic and soothing soundtrack for our crazy world. To date, the band has released three studio albums, one mini-album and several EPs and compilations.

Heretoir has played concerts all over Europe with bands such as Katatonia, Alcest, God is an Astronaut or Agalloch, and has toured with groups such as Killswitch Engage, Enslaved, Der Weg einer Freiheit, Kalmah, Les Discrets and Ghost Bath. The band is not limited to Europe and has also toured in countries such as China, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

Heretoir is ready to conquer the stages of the world more than ever with full force - while the next studio album has already been announced for 2025.

The new Heretoir album entitled "Solastalgia" will be released in fall 2025. The band stays true to their chosen path, but adds some new and unexpected elements to create a mixture of dark heaviness, fragile emotionality and black melancholy. The influences range from spherical Alcest sounds to depressive borrowings from Katatonia and rhythmic passages in the style of In Flames, accompanied by dark Agalloch moods. New are the use of mystical neofolk elements à la Wardruna and even modern electronica interludes in the style of Ulver.

The album title already hints at the overarching themes: mourning for a lost homeland and lamenting for loved ones and long-gone landscapes. The band combines personal emotional worlds with the ecological problems of modernity. There are occasional glimmers of hope, but for the most part the new songs revolve around darker themes of loss, hopelessness and the increasingly pressing questions about the future of humanity on a dying planet.

All in all, Heretoir has composed an album that offers dark music for a broad audience - for everyone who has two things in common: a love of melancholy and a longing for intense, atmospheric music.
