A bus stop. One encounter. Two women. They look at each other - the same dress! Fuel for the first dialog: "I don't...know you!" "This lady opposite me - she's a witch!" Because witches always recognize each other.... They remember their past lives - youth, love, men, gingerbread houses, infanticide, funeral pyres... From Eve to Salome, witches have never had it easy in the last millennia and even today the longings of the two women do not seem to be fulfilled...
The musical by Peter Lund and Danny Ashkenasi takes the audience into the world of witches with wicked, melancholy and amusing songs and creates a kaleidoscope of moments and themes that could not be more human. Time and again, women in particular are drawn into the maelstrom of role models that they are supposed to conform to and live up to. Time and again, they fail to do so. And what happens when they don't? In a sensitive and entertaining way, the play shows us the constant struggle between what we should be and what we are and ultimately gives us a glimpse of what counts - who we want to be.
