The documentary shows women in large GDR companies who fought hard for their independence and still retain their pride today.

The documentary looks at women in GDR industry shortly after reunification: self-confident, independent - and suddenly dismissed. Gerd Kroske combines archive footage from the pirate radio station KANAL X with new commentaries by the protagonists. A cinematic dialog about work, identity and vanished utopias.

In the film discussion, Anne Mahlow (RAMPE program curator) and Yara Richter (RAMPE director) talk about female perspectives on transformation, work and self-assertion - and what these stories tell us about today.
