High´n Mighty Jazz Night - High´n Mighty Big Band, The J.D.´s & Friends und Ynamit Deli

This time, we’ve moved Jazz Night from the dark winter months to spring, thereby ushering in the season.

Young, enthusiastic, and full of joie de vivre, Jazz Night kicks off with “The J.D.’s & Friends”—

a diverse ensemble of individual musicians who are passionate about jazz.

Then the High’n Mighty Big Band takes the stage under the theme “One for Daddy-O.” Trumpeter Nat Adderley, along with his older brother, alto saxophonist Julian “Cannonball” Adderley, left a lasting mark on the hard bop and soul jazz eras. Nat Adderley’s flair for soulful, mid-tempo compositions in the hard bop style produced countless catchy tunes. The High’n Mighty Big Band will bring this music back to life in rousing arrangements this evening.

The evening concludes with Ynamit Deli, a top-notch five-piece brass band that defies categorization. With a sousaphone, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and drums, the five musicians create an explosive mix of jazz, funk, hip-hop, and soul—from New Orleans to “The Länd.”
