High Warden // Münster

With their debut album "Astral Iron", HIGH WARDEN from Münster present a powerful statement that perfectly embodies their self-proclaimed "Morgul Doom Commando" aesthetic. Founded in 2022 by vocalist/guitarist Alastair van Morgue-Gûl and drummer Sadistic Hammer, Lord Perish on bass completes the line-up of this trio who have created something truly special - what they aptly describe as "Slow Heavy Metal". The sound hammers and pulsates with barbaric intensity, crushing riffs, doom metal in its purest, most relentless form.

Alex on the mic doesn't scream, he preaches. His voice is a rumbling thunder. Sadistic Hammer on drums doesn't just pound out rhythms, he drags whole avalanches down into the valley. Every bass drum is a tombstone, every beat a shovelful of earth over the coffin.

The riffs are almost endless, like liquid steel, and at the same time so crushing that you get the feeling that your own chest is hollowing out from the inside. No show effects, no frippery. Just raw, cold heaviness. Doom as it should be: slow, evil, relentless.
