HILMA WHO? - Atelier der Unsichtbaren

A woman invents abstract painting. Almost no one is interested in it.  WHO CARES? Then a man “invents” abstract painting. And becomes famous. WHAT A GENIUS! Sound familiar? The 20th century was full of geniuses. Or so they say. It’s just strange that almost all of them were men.
In *Hilma, who?*, the painter Hilma af Klint reclaims—on behalf of many female artists—the space that was denied to her. She opens her studio to female artists who have been rendered invisible and female composers whose voices have been ignored. Inspired by Hilma af Klint, abstract painting, electronic sounds, feminist pop culture, dance, theater, and performance come together at the Sunny High Club. Because sometimes it’s not about who made history, but about who was erased from it. Come join us in the studio of the invisible. It’s time to bring some seemingly minor footnotes to the front pages. ALL EYES ON HER!
