Tenebrae has already confirmed its outstanding reputation as one of the best professional vocal ensembles in England with its previous guest performances at Musikfest Bremen. The Weser-Kurier wrote in 2024: "So many songs of lament [...] and yet you want - moved - to shout for joy. Because the ten female and nine male singers of the English chamber choir Tenebrae convey sounds of such magic that you are almost overwhelmed". Founded in 2001 by Nigel Short, Tenebrae is now celebrating its 25th birthday with an exquisitely crafted program that combines iconic choral works from the 19th and 20th centuries with works by contemporary composers, some of which were written especially for Tenebrae. This promises a heart-wrenching evening of song in which Tenebrae will once again combine its crystal-clear singing with perfect intonation and homogeneity to move the audience to the maximum through the power and intimacy of the human voice alone.
