To kick off Leipzig’s 2026 CSD Week, the area in front of the New City Hall will once again be a colorful sight: By raising the rainbow flag, Dr. Martina Münch, mayor and deputy mayor for Social Affairs, Health, and Diversity, together with the city, is sending a strong message of openness, respect, and queer diversity in Leipzig. Immediately afterward, the official CSD reception will take place in the City Council Chamber. You can look forward to personal and inspiring speeches as well as musical entertainment. During the festive reception, CSD Leipzig e.V. will also present the annual “CSD Leipzig Award for Queer Activism.” Afterward, the Upper Foyer invites you to wind down in a relaxed atmosphere: Over sparkling wine and light hors d’oeuvres, you can strike up conversations, make new connections, and raise a toast together to a diverse and powerful CSD week.
