Music criticism is in the age of shitstorms. How do fan cultures and social media presence accompany a critical examination of pop? What consequences can a disavowal have? What is the art of a disstrack and why do we still remain human?

A roundtable with the following guests:

🐾 Henrik von Holtum (aka Textor) is a musician and author. As a rapper and producer, he is part of the hip-hop crew Kinderzimmer Productions. As an author, he makes radio features for SWR and others, writes for the taz newspaper and teaches music and text at the Institute for Pop Music at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.

🐾 Annekathrin Kohout is a freelance author and cultural scientist. She studied German language and literature, art history, media theory, philosophy and photography in Dresden, Karlsruhe and Leipzig. Her most recent book "Hyperreaktiv. Wie in Sozialen Medien um Deutungsmacht gekämpft wird"was published in 2025. She writes the column "Feed Interrupted" for taz.

🐾 Juliane Liebert, born in 1989 in Halle an der Saale, studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and works as a freelance author and journalist for Süddeutsche Zeitung, Die Zeit and Der Spiegel, among others. She writes prose and poetry and has published several books, most recently "mörderballaden".

🐾 Julian Weber, music editor at taz, moderates this talk. He studied American Studies and Sociology in Munich and has been working in the culture department of the taz since 2009 after working in Zurich and Hamburg.
