In the Hollywood on Air series, we present: "The Tenant" - Alfred Hitchcock's Hollywood classic as a live radio play

Ladies and gentlemen, here comes Hollywood - for your ears! "Hollywood on Air" is a journey back in time to the thirties and forties, when radio was in its heyday in America. Back then, almost all Hollywood stars also appeared in the radio play versions of their films - live on a theater stage, while at the same time an audience of millions listened to the radio receivers. Our live radio play productions continue this tradition. Four actors who take on all the roles, an inventive foley artist and a musician realize the most exciting head cinema based on legendary Hollywood classics of film history. And we take the journey back in time to the Golden Days of Radio seriously and do without any electronic-digital support. This means that everything you see (and above all hear) is "handmade".

A mysterious murderer of women is up to mischief in London's East End. The stranger, who mutilates his victims - all young, blonde and pretty - in horrific ways, is known as "Jack the Ripper". One evening, a new lodger introduces himself to Ellen: a gentleman from head to toe. Ellen is thrilled, even though the new tenant has eccentric preferences - for example, he only ever leaves the house at night. Then Daisy, Ellen's 20-year-old daughter, unexpectedly returns home from a stay in the country. She too is young and blonde and pretty ... The live radio play is based on the motifs of Alfred Hitchcock's silent film The Lodger, which was his international breakthrough.
