Rolling Loud presents: Hoosh

US newcomer brings melodic rap to Munich

Miami-born rap newcomer Hoosh has already wrapped the audience around his finger at the Rolling Loud festivals in Thailand, Toronto, New York, California and also last year at the German premiere in Munich. So it's only logical that the German offshoot of the world-famous hip-hop festival should bring him back to Munich for another club show. However, the "rap" category is far too narrow for Hoosh. Like his role models Frank Ocean and Drake, Hoosh has a love of melody, versatility, pop appeal and a sensibility that extends far beyond the genre. Rather unusual for rap is also the fact that the first little hype surrounding his song "Santa Monica", which he recorded with producer offrami, came about in 2018 due to the Netflix rom-com series "The First Look, the Last Kiss and Everything in Between", where the song was used prominently. Since then, Sudan-born Hoosh has released strong singles such as "Foolish" (2018) - his most successful song to date - "Missed Takes" (2020), "Kabasa" (2020) and most recently the EP "3 AM". Here he sounds more emotional and organic than ever, relies on an atmospheric band sound, sings more than he raps and is sure to have won over one or two Brockhampton fans. Hoosh's lyrics are also more authentic than ever. Hoosh told his hometown newspaper, the Miami New Times, in an interview about his lyrics in 2023: "I've always been a very open person since I was a kid. I think I got that from my mom. We always had open communication and she taught me to be honest no matter what you're going through. I've kept that up my whole life."

You can also see this attitude in his live shows: On stage, Hoosh becomes a man-catcher, casually switching from singing to rapping, captivating the audience with his voice and his stories. On July 9, you will finally have the opportunity to see him live - he will be playing at the Milla Club in Munich.
