What is really happening right now? When does a trend become a cultural phenomenon - and when does it tip over into the problematic? Hot Topic is the new series of events at Schauspiel Dortmund, which starts exactly where it gets exciting: in the middle of the web of pop culture, hypes and discourses that are suddenly everywhere - and can hardly be shaken off.

Each issue starts with curated hot takes. Then the space opens up: for artistic interventions, for conversations, for friction. Contemplative moments meet genuine dissent, personal perspectives meet collective questions. Between empowerment and appropriation, between self-presentation and external attribution, we explore what pop culture reveals about us - and what we are looking for in it.

All of this in a setting that entertains without losing its edge: with authentic, unrehearsed moderations, musical highlights and deliberately open questions. You are invited to think and participate.
