In the organizer's words:
String-heavy indie pop with poetic lyrics, a wide range of instruments, and influences from jazz, chanson, and classical music. Even without botanical expertise, one can describe the musical roots of the Leipzig-based band HOTEL RIMINI as highly ramified. The six band members bring their diverse musical backgrounds together to create a unique sonic universe: electric guitar, double bass, and drums blend with cello and violin; piano and acoustic guitar meet saxophones, French horns, and clarinets, as well as analog sound effects or a vintage synthesizer. Singer Julius Forster’s German lyrics explore themes such as lonely self-promoters, missed opportunities, coming to terms with the past while riding public transit, and succumbing to the brutalities of everyday life. Their albums *Allein unter Möbeln* (2023) and *Gefährdete Arten* (2025) were met with waves of enthusiasm from both audiences and music critics alike and took them on extensive tours throughout the German-speaking world. Recently, the six members of Riminis gathered on the outskirts of Leipzig to work on their third album (scheduled for release in fall 2027)—and now they’re hitting the road with their first new songs.
“Poetic chamber pop in the zoo of life. Very good!”
Rolling Stone
“With their mix of indie and chanson-style instrumentation, the songs sound timeless; the lyrics comment on the present with insight and wit.”
Musikexpress
"Elegiac chanson-pop with strings and horns, a bit like Element of Crime, but with lyrics for the Tinder generation."
