HULDER (led by the artist of the same name) was born in 2018 in the dense landscape of the American Pacific Northwest. She quickly released a series of demos, EPs and singles, using her fixation with medieval lore as inspiration for 2021's highly acclaimed debut LP Godslastering:"Hymns Of A Forlorn Peasantry". In 2022, HULDER released "The Eternal Fanfare", a five-song mini-album that marked a new phase in the project's rapid development and piqued the interest of various metal publications at home and abroad. HULDER's acoustic ascent continued with an extensive tour of North America later that year and into 2023, which also took the band to Europe for the first time. Spurred on by these noble successes, the stage was set for the band to take the headlining slot on the 2024 Decibel Magazine Tour and announce a brand new work of darkness. The haunting, grandiose new HULDER album"Verses In Oath", released on February 9, 2024, represents the most majestic and untamed manifestation yet on the band's journey of conquest, where new territory is set ablaze and conquered with sword and shield. The age-old, grief-filled melancholy and seething spirit that is the essence of "Hearken The End" permeates the entire album, which is now a fundamental detail of the HULDER identity whose roots lie deep in long-forgotten soil. And while the cutting ferocity and torn flesh of"Vessel Of Suffering" and"Enchanted Steel" embrace a predatory barbarism, it is the combination of all these elements that places "Verses In Oath" in the timeless pantheon of black metal's most jarring lineage. While black metal has evolved into countless offshoots and subgenres beyond comprehension, HULDER is firmly rooted in the destructive supremacy, rituals and traditions of the genre, carrying the torch of its origins and heritage.
